DR. WILLIS L. LONZER, III

GENERAL PRESIDENT-ELECT LONZER is a respected leader in the fraternity, business, and his community. He is an executive scientist with 20 years of global pharmaceutical research and development and global medical affairs experience. A native of Richmond, Virginia, he matriculated to Delaware State University, where he was a Charles Waples Scholar in chemistry and earned Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. While at Delaware State, he joined the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through the Gamma Sigma Chapter on November 15, 1986. He also holds the Doctor of Philosophy degree in biochemistry from The University of Akron, where was a prestigious Patricia Roberts Harris Predoctoral Fellow.  Dr. Lonzer was also a postdoctoral fellow in physiology and biophysics at Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine. Fraternally, General President-Elect Lonzer is the Immediate Past Midwestern Regional Vice President and a member of the Xi Lambda Chapter in Chicago, IL. Previously, he served as a Chapter President at the college and alumni levels; College Step Master; College Chapter Advisor; Area Director; District Director of Ohio; and has been a member of multiple committees on the regional and general levels of the fraternity.

Brother Dr. Lonzer will take office as the 36th General President of Alpha Phi Alpha on January 1, 2021.
