For Immediate Release

The late Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Brother Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Today’s ruling by a 5 – 4 majority of the United States Supreme Court to overturn the near 50-year-old precedent in Roe v. Wade should alarm us all because it sets the stage to undermine other constitutionally recognized individual freedoms, returning us eerily close to the days when so-called states’ rights limited freedom for so many Black and other marginalized communities.

We must not be silent on these significant matters. Alpha Phi Alpha will continue to develop our Brothers to be advocates and leaders on the most pressing issues facing the communities we serve.  Elections have consequences.  This is why Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will continue to develop it’s Brotherhood to be directly engaged in all levels with the upcoming midterm elections.
